Crazy weekend with the Pig Roast and the heat. Let me just say that even though the temperature was the same as last year's pig roast, the humidity was unbelievable!! Wish the Pig Roast could have been Sunday or even yesterday. Gorgeous weather!
Well, as the summer is winding down, I figured I would share some pics of the garden over the summer.
The first picture is so funny to me. It looks like I have dead chickens in the garden. It's really them sunning themselves and cleaning themselves.
Here's the start of a watermelon. We've never really been able to grow watermelons. There's a story here....
Once this one got a bit bigger, we picked it. Right around the time of the intense heat in August...
So we refrigerated it...and then went to go cut it. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WHITE INSIDE!! There was no "melon" part of it at all! It was like it was the white rind all the way thru! So disappointing. We have another one sitting on the counter now. I think we are all nervous to cut it because we don't want to be disappointed!!
The green beans were fantastic this year! The best I've had even from a restaurant! Too bad they were only short lived.
Here we are about a week and a half ago. Watermelon and pumpkin vines are reaching!
The tomatoes didn't do super great. The ones we did get though, they are fantastic!!
Here's some of the pumpkins, the cucumbers and one of the three or four squash we got. We did get a good zucchini or two. Didn't grab a pic of them though.
Are the pumpkins just so darn cute! That was AB's idea for the miniature pumpkin plant. I love them!!
