In August, definitely not the right time of year to visit Charleston, SC, but we did. The house AB found was built in 1913 and it was totally my style! I thought I had taken more pictures of it, but I guess not, so I'm borrowing some from the VBRO website to show you.
This first one I took and it is definitely interesting to see what pictures the owners of The Marlborough used in decorating the house.
This is the view from the front door to the little store across the street. This little store was GREAT! Had some incredible crepes! You could get small groceries there...more importantly, they did have a nice selection of wines to choose from...more home brews than domestic beers, but that didn't disappoint me!!
They did decide to modernize the kitchens...and there were two of them.
The picture below is from the VRBO website and is the room I stayed in.
This was the upstairs parlor. The downstairs parlor was very similar. Of course the downstairs one was A LOT COOLER!
This is the downstairs parlor. Much cooler.
We were right on Queen Street which really is ideal for the historic part of Charleston. I would like to go back when it isn't so hot so I can enjoy walking a bit more and partaking in some of the other restaurants.
It's hot today...and tomorrow and The Roast is supposed to be even hotter. Bummer--but what can you do?
